Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 - 1

Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Poggio al Lupo is a wine that expresses the Maremma terroir and its great oenological potential, which has immediately gained considerable recognition. Endowed with persuasive personality, this Cabernet Sauvignon blends territorial and varietal character with extreme elegance. First label from the winery of the same name, located in Magliano in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma. An area of Etruscan settlements in the past, it is now one of the most vocated areas for wine production. 15 hectares of vines dominate a breathtaking panorama: Giglio Island in front and Talamone to the side. At 120 meters above sea level, on a particular hillside characterized by red soils rich in skeleton and clay, our cabernet sauvignon finds its perfect habitat, with which we began the production of this label in 2003. In fact, this variety gave us an extremely identifiable wine: high amount of polyphenolic substances, good alcohol presence and important acidity give it structure, complexity and longevity.
Vintage Notes

It was a regular vintage, temperatures in the normal range, there were right rains during the spring-summer phase, at right intervals, every 15 days rainfall of 30-40mm, we had sunny weeks with temperatures in the normal range on 25gr daytime and 18gr nighttime, this allowed accumulation of important sugars. We had a beautiful September, albeit with some humidity, but very sunny with very little rain in Maremma. The Cabernet of this vintage expresses excellent colors and great structural concentrations. The 2018 vintage is of extreme quality: very balanced wines with good freshness and beautiful concentration.
